BELMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sezmi Corporation today announced the appointment of two industry veterans to its executive team – Kevin Grundy and Michael Youssefmir. Grundy has a long-standing career developing some of today’s most innovative companies and joins Sezmi as its chief operations officer. Youssefmir, a wireless broadband and data technologies guru, will serve as the company’s chief technology officer.
“Phil Wiser and I started Sezmi because we identified a consumer need to advance and improve the television experience. Our first step was creating the right team with the right experience to make the company successful,” said Buno Pati, Sezmi co-founder and chief executive officer. “Kevin Grundy and Michael Youssefmir complement our executive team and bring the talent and experience needed to drive innovations that will continue to move Sezmi forward.”

While at NextNet, he was responsible for conducting top-to-bottom restructures that led to the company’s $1 billion investment deal between Clearwire, Intel and Motorola. At SiliconPipe, he led the creation and monetization of 40 patents and a subsequent acquisition by the TPL Group. At Telocity, he managed the exponential growth of the company into a nationwide broadband service provider that was purchased in 2002 by DirecTV for $180 million. Earlier in his career, Grundy served as director of engineering and senior director of manufacturing at NeXT Inc.
“Sezmi is working with leaders in broadcast, broadband, content and advertising to bring together its novel entertainment platform,” said Grundy, “I was attracted to Sezmi’s leadership and look forward to leading Sezmi initiatives.”
Youssefmir oversees the technical and scientific operations for Sezmi and brings over 15 years of experience in the wireless broadband and networking industries. With a doctorate in physics from Stanford University and a background in nonlinear dynamics, he applies impeccable knowledge and industry expertise to this role. Prior to joining Sezmi, Youssefmir served as senior director of product management at Bytemobile Incorporated, a mobile Internet software and infrastructure provider. While at Bytemobile, Youssefmir managed architectural and market requirements for the company's wireless optimization services node.
